Honest Scrap

There is no knowing what unexpected visitors might be dropping by The Wulfshead.

Or what startling present they might be bearing.

As the bartender currently on duty, it is my privilege to recognize Nurse Scrap's devotion to The Wulfshead and present her with the prestigious Honest Weblog Award bestowed upon her and "a whole bunch of people at The Wulfshead" by the Simian delegation on behalf of Dr. Zaius.

This award is an exceptional distinction:

The Wulfshead's distinguished patrons and visitors, "strange and unusual" as they may be, are "distinguished" by what they value, by whom they honor, and by what they aspire to be: their individual’s stories enrich the significance of this award. And so, I hope that many will be the patrons and regulars who will avail themselves of this unique opportunity to partake in the spirit of the Honest Scrap distinction presented to them.

The rules of the award are:

1. You must brag about the award

2. You must include the name of the blogger who bestowed the award on you and link back to the blogger

3. You must choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design

4. Show their names and links and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog.

5. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself.

Then pass it on with the instructions!

To be continued . . .

  1. I am so glad that you able to meet with my representatives Dr. Zira and Professor Cornelius personally to accept your award. Hey wait... you haven't awarded it to any other bloggers yet! I'll guess that you get to that part later... :o)

  2. Excuse my ignorance, but how come this Dr. Zaius guy isn't listed among the membership over there? Are we in the presence of an actual godhead?

  3. I must be psychic...or else absorbing Sesame Street subconsciously. Either condition may require treatment. The guy's a doctor? What's his field? Or maybe I'll go to Jin's Bakery for frosting medication instead. Utah Savage knows all the doctors in the world. Utah, are you around?

I am a doctor but you can just call me bay-bee.

  5. A moment good people, I'd like to toast the fond memory of Irish Teddy, one of the last of the good ones - perhaps we could join in song to his memory - I believe I can hear his baritone joining from on high - rest well Teddy, you have earned it

  6. Meanwhile in the blogosphere, members of the Grand Old Party, like "Brilliant Conservative Brother" aka "Alpha Conservative Male"---I know - I thought it was meant as a joke too, but apparently the guy does take his screen name seriously---have been wasting no time in slinging mud at the memory of "Senator "splash" Ted Kennedy."

And, oh, wow, great compassionate "christian-like" Eulogy too, on OSV Daily Take (a self proclaimed "catholic blog on the News").

OSV opposes Obama's Health care reform. As do a growing number of Catholic bishops.

"No health care reform is better than the wrong sort of health care reform," Bishop R. Walker Nickless of Sioux City, Iowa, declared in a recent pastoral letter, urging the faithful to call their members of Congress.

Others, echoing the popular alarms about "rationing," contend that the proposals could put a premium on efficacy that could penalize the chronically ill.

In a diocesan newspaper column this week, Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Denver agreed, saying the proposal was "not only imprudent; it’s also dangerous."

The bishops’ opposition, published in diocesan newspapers, is being widely disseminated online by conservative activists, and reported in a Roman Catholic newspaper to be distributed this weekend at churches around the country.

  7. Are you sure this award isn't just another trick by Obama to raise my taxes and take away my health care? Wait a minute... I have no income, pay no taxes, and have no health care! Insidious!
