It's the culture war, stupid!

I think Butters's got it right, here. If anything, this election's outcome proved one thing: "The GOP can no longer build a national coalition around a traditionalist conservative cultural agenda" alone. It does spell trouble for the Republican party (and their Tea Party constituency) in view of the fact that, as the three presidential non-debates painfully revealed, neither party has anything of significance to present that is fundamentally different from what their political counterpart is offering insofar as other substantive issues, such as the economy or foreign policy, are concerned.

Meanwhile in Washington:

What happen next is anyone's guess. Right?

Right.

How To Mousse A Moose

Sarah Palin's family on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", AP Photo/Harpo Productions, Inc., George Burns

Don't turn up your trousers before you get to the brook.

---Advice for today at The Old Farmer's Almanac

I like to think I support feminists, despite the challenges of consistency I sometimes assert. However, I remain vague on aspects of hair styling and artistic cookery. To mousse something has to do with frothing up the hair I believe, and a mousse is a sort of frothed food. A moose mousse would involve intricate grinding and sieving of the animal before the actual dessert could be served. And I don't know whether chocolate goes well with moose. Chocolate gravy on roast beef might not be bad.

But back to topic: a moussed moose might make a cute, fluffy animal toy for a child, complete with soft antler rack---if the things on a male moose are called antlers and not some special term. You see, I don't really know what I'm talking about here, which is why I want to turn the job over to a woman who, before Sarah's book, might have been considered a real rogue of a female. Can there be any comparison between Maureen Dowd and Sarah Palin? Go to this morning's link...and let the moussing begin~~~

Wherever you go . . .

. . . there you are:

Myself, I'll be right over here. Enjoying a nice serving of bean curd.

Things have been quiet of late at The Wulfshead, and I like it that way.

Unlike some of the more prissy clientèle of the club---Who are some of those people anyway and how did they ever find their way in here?---I don't mind pouring my own beer.

They say real men don't eat Tofu. But they say so many things [link]. On the other hand, there is hope: if Jorge Chavarro and his team have it right, soy may become one viable solution to the Human overpopulation crisis. (Except that it doesn't look like it has been working that way, so far, in countries such as China or India or Brazil and in other countries where the consumption of soy is high.)

But who cares what they say, the bean curd goes well with the beer.

Besides, it's a specialty of the house.

And...er... And "why is that?" do you ask.

Ahh...it all started with that Guan Di fellow. That guy with the white beard over there, who just stormed in. He has just found out that the bartender is away and he looks rather pissed off about the whole thing. Don't let the haughtiness and all the drama fool you. I know him; there is a kind heart under that fierce appearance. He'll soon calm down and pour himself a drink just like the rest of us.

They say he is some kind of a god, you know.

Don't ask  . . . [cont'd']

Too late!

Maybe he is "the solution to the human overpopulation crisis."
