“Oh! how stiff you are! Just go straight ahead as if you were walking . . .
Dancing, don’t you see, is every bit as easy as thinking, when you can do it,
and much easier to learn. Now you can understand why people won’t get
the habit of thinking. . . .”

Odd that I, a dancing woman, never mated with a dancing man. And their non-dancing stance made them less sexy to me over time. Eventually I left them all. Now I dance alone or with women. Women know how to have a lovely time. Men seem a bit stiff in that pursuit. Men seem to worry more about how other men will see them if they relax enough to dance. As if dancing were unmanly. I know, I made very bad choices. If I had it to do over, I'd hope I'd choose differently.
ReplyDeleteI read all of Hesse in my late twenties. One book after the other, starting with Steppenwolf and ending with Magister Ludi. It was an interesting summer. All mind, all the time. Probably made me a dull girl. Certainly made me unavailable.
